Short Term Rentals are for MORE Than Vacations

Short Term rentals are not just for vacation any longer. They can serve a variety of purposes for both business and personal travel. But regardless of the purposes, short-term rentals have one thing in common – they can cash-flow like a river after a dam burst.

How can you tell whether an area is suitable for a short term rental investment? Ask just two questions:

Are there any name brand hotels in the area? If yes, then your market viability research is done.

Does the local municipality have any rules limiting or forbidding short term rentals? If not, you’re good to go.

It’s a good idea to track the on-going conversations within a community about banning short term rentals. This is happening across the country in non-tourist areas. There could be legal questions about the constitutionality of such bans, but you probably don’t want to be in the middle of that litigation. It’s best to just avoid those areas.
