Lesson Eleven: Working with Realtors
You want to hire a real estate agent who is a good fit for you. Here is a list of questions you can draw from to interview potential agents. I don’t recommend you ask every question – that would be too much. But let these questions guide your thoughts and conversation.
Two important notes:
- Please sound like you know what you are talking about. The word “Realtor” has two syllables and is not pronounced “real-i-tor.” It’s “real-tor.” You might even need to practice saying it correctly.
- There is a difference between a licensed real estate agent and a Realtor. A real estate agent is anyone who is licensed to help people buy and sell commercial or residential property. A Realtor is a trademarked term that refers to a real estate agent who is an active member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). All Realtors are licensed agents, but not all agents are Realtors.
I know there is a difference and now you do too. But that doesn’t keep me from using the term interchangeably (like most people).
